Nicola & Brian work together on Tito's wall

by Brian Inkster 27. November 2009 19:13

Day 10 was the first day that Nicola and I had actually worked together on a job. I joined Nicola in the morning to assist on the building of a partition wall, which was to form a new bathroom, in Tito's house. Nicola had already been working on this project on earlier days and had been there from the outset when the wall was first set out. She showed me how to bricklay - a trade that she now seemed to have down to a T.

It was then decided to move some of the team to a new site where other bricklaying was required. Nicola said she would go to the new site and I would remain at Tito's. However, Tito was not happy with this. He wanted Nicola to stay and me to go! I said to Tito that he could keep Nicola as long as Mrs. Tito was happy with that. This was translated to some amusement.
