I was delighted when Jeffrey Aitken became our eleventh Corporate Sponsor and the last one before we set off for Argentina.
I started my legal traineeship with Jeffrey Aitken in 1991 and went on to work for them for 8 years first as an Assitant Solicitor and then as an Associate. My training under the partners at Jeffrey Aitken was superb and set me in good stead to start up practice on my own account in 1999. Indeed Jeffrey Aitken were very supportive of my wish to branch out on my own with us sharing office space during my first year in business before Inksters move to Baltic Chambers. Ten years later we maintain a very good working relationship.
My ground breaking case on the servitude right to park, Moncrieff v Jamieson, started out life at Lerwick Sheriff Court when I was at Jeffrey Aitken and only recently came to an end in the House of Lords. I dealt with many other interesting cases whilst at Jeffrey Aitken including a memorable interdict to prevent alcohol being consumed in a beer garden in Glasgow's West End. It involved a site visit before court proceedings were commenced!
So a big thank you to Innes McMaster, Mike Whiteford, Gordon Frew and Alasdair Gillies for the training they gave me and for becoming our latest corporate sponsors.
